One of the ingredients most talked about lately within the Regulatory / Compliance realm of Sports Nutrition has been Yohimbe, a drug derived from African yohimbe bark. The FDA bans the trade of this ingredient in the UK, most of Europe and Canada due to its adverse affects to the central nervous system. However, in the U.S. the ingredient is perfectly legal.
Geranium (1,3 dimethylamylamine) has also been a hot topic lately. Geranium is used in many pre-workout and stimulant products on the market these days and it is designed to provide increased energy and focus as well as helping you to feel a general sense of well being. As with Yohimbe, this ingredient also comes with its fair share of side effects.
If you are taking supplements, make sure you scan the bottles ingredients label, and are aware of what you are putting into your body!
