Zydrunas Savickas won the FIBO Strongman Championship!

Continuing his dominance over the world of strength in early 2014, MHP strongman Zydrunas Savickas won the FIBO Strongman Championship in Cologne, Germany on April 5th. The event, sanctioned by Strongman Champions League, took place at the FIBO Expo, the world’s largest fitness tradeshow. It was the second stop in the 2014 MHP SCL Championship Series.

The highlight of Big Z’s victory was a new world record in the Super Log Lift. This is the biggest diameter log in the world at 14.2 inches (36 cm). Zydrunas pressed 452 lbs. (205 kg), which was an amazing amount of weight for this big of a log.

Martin Wildauer was the runner-up at the FIBO Strongman in a field of 14 competitors from a dozen countries. Ervin Katona took third place and Krzysztof Radzikowski, also sponsored by MHP, placed sixth – despite coming off a devastating triceps injury at the Arnold Classic just a month ago.
